Hey, I'm Aby

Ash and Aura is my way of blending grit with glow, capturing everything from loud, love-soaked weddings to quiet cuddles on the couch during a family session. Portraits, gigs, all of it. It’s about honest connection, real emotion, and telling your story without the stiff poses.

If you're after photos that feel like home, a little raw, a little magic, and totally you, I think we’ll get along great.

My editing style is all about warmth, honesty, and nostalgia; capturing the feeling of a moment just as much as the look of it.

Think golden tones, soft textures, and earthy colours that give your memories a little bit of glow without losing their natural edge. Greens are muted, skies are moody, and light wraps gently around the people who matter most.

It’s cinematic, but never stiff. Romantic, but rooted.

Whether it’s a wedding at golden hour, a muddy gig with killer energy, or your little one climbing all over you during a family session; my aim is to keep it raw, grounded, and glowing.

Every image should feel like it came straight from your heart (but with a little extra magic).

the one behind Ash and Aura; a camera in one hand, coffee (probably cold) in the other, and a four-year-old, named Ryker, usually climbing something he shouldn’t in the background.

I live for the kind of moments that don’t make it to your camera roll, the messy, beautiful, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it stuff. I’m big on family (mine means the world to me), good music (the louder the better), and keeping things real. Life’s not always polished, and honestly, I prefer it that way.

Education:

I’m currently heading into my second year of a BA (Hons) in Photography, where I’ve been sharpening my skills, deepening my creative voice, and learning how to turn instinct into intention.

Studying photography at a degree level has pushed me beyond just taking “pretty pictures.” It’s taught me to see with purpose, to explore light, composition, emotion, and storytelling in ways that reflect both the real and the raw.

I’m diving into theory, experimenting with technique, and constantly finding new ways to shape my perspective.

Balancing uni life with real-life shoots (and a four-year-old who thinks he’s a superhero) keeps things interesting, but it also keeps me grounded. I bring what I learn in the classroom straight into my sessions; and vice versa.

This isn’t just a course, it’s part of the bigger journey I’m on as both a photographer and a person. And I’m only just getting started.

I've also attended styled shoots and wedding training sessions with https://shuttercircle.co.uk/

Photography is a more recent career chapter for me as well as playing as part of a gigging band. I fancied a change after spending 12 years working in early years education. That background has shaped everything about how I approach my work — with patience, calm energy, and a deep understanding of how to connect with children and families. It’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about building trust, making people feel at ease, and capturing moments that feel real and meaningful.
